The Moonlite Difference in Photography

Let’s play a little wedding photography game: Select 10 random photographers in Atlanta and look through their online portfolios.
As you scroll through images, something amazing will start to happen. Some of the work will draw your eye and pull you into an entire wedding story, while you glaze over others. So, what makes some shots stand out from the pack? Is it composition, posing or the setting? According to Mike Moone Studio, those all have some effect, but there is one aspect that really changes a photograph for the better: Lighting.
While “natural light” photography has been on the tip of a lot of tongues in the industry, it’s important to understand how a natural-light photographer approaches a setting that doesn’t have big windows or a sunny sky, and not to mention, those evening getaway shots after the sun has set!
Mike Moon Studio shared their approach with us to put brides at ease: “At Mike Moon Studio we believe that lighting is the most important aspect of wedding photography. We believe this so strongly that we developed our own proprietary lighting system we call Moonlite.”
Moonlite is a system that allows Mike Moone Studio to provide the look of studio lighting, but with the fluidity that a wedding day demands. Meaning, every picture has perfect lighting no matter what weather or situation your wedding day brings! Talk about putting brides’ hearts at ease.
The best part of this system? Because they are able to replicate the look across their entire photography team, it reduces costs for high-end photography, and cuts down time on getting your pics back so you can get amazing shots at a value, and quick.

October Bride of the Month | Tia

Meet Tia, our October bride of the month! Tia and her groom bleed for their alma mater, so they did their engagement shoot with Made You Look Photo in their best college tees to pay homage to how they met.

Read more about their engagement and wedding story.

When and where are you getting married? We are getting married on October 14, 2017, at a gorgeous intown spot â€“ MGM (Millennium Gate Museum), which is the arch in the center of Atlantic Station/17th street. It looks like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France and was an architecture design contender for the Eisenhower Memorial.

How did you meet and how did he propose? We both love our ungrads, and our friends introduced us at homecoming one year.  He proposed on top of a mountain, inside cloud nine 🙂 We were surrounded by candlelight, family, and friends and the balcony had a sign that said, “Will You Marry Me?”

What is your overall vision for your wedding? Our theme is chic rustic to blend with the outdoor ceremony and reception that we will have at the venue with elevated attire to complement the evening event. Most importantly though, we want our guests to have a blast and party it up!

Which wedding details are you most excited about and why? Looking at everyone’s enjoyment and excitement and of course, I’m very excited about tying the knot with my groom! We have a lot of fun food surprises for our guest so that will be fun to watch unfold on the big day.

What has been the most difficult and most fun part of wedding planning? Logistics and Logistics. But, we have an awesome event coordinator, Robyne Gordon at Carrie Belle Events, to help us with all of it.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Currently Coveting: Puppy Pics

We can’t resist a pup in a bowtie or a tuxedo. More couples are incorporating their furry friends in their wedding festivities and not only does it add a special  element to the day, it makes for some great pics!

Whether you have a shared pet with your fiance or your pet is your BFF/baby, there are plenty of ways to include your furry friend in your big day.

Engagement shoots are a great way to include your pet. To keep them calm (and photogenic), opt for an open outdoor setting and keep it to just you and the photographer.

If you want your pet to a part of your wedding day but you’re not keen on your them being a part of the big show, keep them with you for those priceless getting ready photos. Plus, having your pet by your side will rid you of any wedding day jitters.

If holding a dog in your pristine white dress isn’t your thing, you can still let the boys have a little photo fun with man’s best friend.

Don’t leave your pup without the proper attire, coordinate their bowtie or tutu with wedding colors. A small dog in a tutu: swoon.

Including your pet in the ceremony is an extra special way to have to them a part of your day, just don’t be surprised if they come in for a hug during the vows! They love you, and that makes for a picture-perfect moment.
