Tia and Shawn first shared their collegiate love story with us inour October Bride of the Month series. The couple was married on October 14, 2017 in midtown Atlanta at the Millennium Gate Museum.
We caught up with Tia to hear about the big day and with the photos as evidence, it was nothing short of amazing. Read more for a look behind this Midtown museum wedding captured by Made You Look Photo & Film.
Having finished planning your wedding, what piece of advice would you offer brides-to-be going through the process? If I could offer brides-to-be one piece of advice it would be to soak up every single bit of the wedding day with family and friends. The entire day goes by so fast!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day? The vow exchange is by far my favorite memory of our wedding day because it was such a special moment for me and my groom to share together in front of our family and friends.
During your engagement you told us you were really excited about the decor. What were your favorite elements? One of my favorite decor elements of our wedding was a family crest we had designed and installed at the venue. You could see the personalized crest hanging from blocks away! It coordinated with our invitations and was an immediate symbol to guests that they had arrived at our wedding.
Of course the entire day was fun, but which part was the most fun to see come together after all the planning? Creating an amazing guest experience was the most important thing throughout the planning process. Seeing our guests in awe at the venue, florals, food, drinks and favors was fun to watch since we had put so much thought into it.
You had an amazing team of vendors! How did you choose them? When we started wedding planning I knew I wanted Made You Look Photo & Film to capture our day. Their team has an incredible reputation and is extremely nice and caring. From the engagement shoot to the wedding day, they created an amazing experience for us. Every moment and every angle was captured on film and still photos with a special attention to detail.
Best wishes Tia and Shawn!

Congratulations Shelby and Jacob! They were married on June 12, 2016 at the Roswell Mill Club in Roswell, Georgia. Liz Erikson photographed their special day!
“Even in the extreme heat and rolling thunder, this FANTASTIC group of people laughed, loved, shared, and then left it all on the dance floor. We are so blessed to document such amazing moments for such beautiful people!” ~ Liz Erikson

Cheers to the happy couple! One of our previous Brides of the Month, Karen, married her husband Isaac at The Waterfall Club in Clayton, Georgia this past April.
The couple used Lethal Rhythms for their entertainment and videography, including the Lethal drone! Check out the cool video footage below and learn more about drones for wedding photography and videography here.
Congratulations Saranne and Paul! They were married on October 24, 2015 at Victoria Belle Mansion in Hogansville, Georgia.
“Sarannne & Paul’s expression of their love and commitment to each other was orchestrated in every detail throughout their wedding day. As a planner, I was truly inspired by their unique style and individuality,” Vickie Brown said.
Congratulations Megan and Marcos! They were married on April 4, 2015 at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia.
Even though the couple resides in Abu Dhabi, they were able to successfully plan the wedding from overseas with the help of Janice Blackmon Events. Chateau Elan was the perfect setting, with the ceremony taking place in the Atrium and the reception in the Debussy Ballroom. The color palette was Tiffany Blue, black and silver with plenty of glitz and glamour! Megan purchased many of her own items, which were perfectly incorporated into the wedding decor such as the hanging chandelier!
“This wedding had so many beautiful touches, but one of my favorite decor items was the hanging floral/chandelier feature above the Sweetheart Table. The couple was speechless when I took them to see the Ballroom before the guests entered!” -Janice Blackmon
Congratulations Shelby and Stuart! They were married on May 22, 2015 at Swan House Lawn at the Atlanta History Center.
Shelby, a huge Disney fan, wanted a very elegant and royal wedding. The bride and groom chose an “old world” feel for the ceremony, and Swan House at the Atlanta History Center was the perfect backdrop! After enjoying the afternoon on the grounds and touring Swan House, the guests were welcomed into the Grand Overlook Ballroom for a royal reception fit for a princess and her prince. Shelby and Stuart continued their magical celebration by honeymooning at Aulani, Disney’s Hawaiian Resort and Spa.
We will now start featuring weddings that include our preferred exhibitors from The Bridal Extravaganza!
This wedding was sent into us by Leneille Brathwaite Moon featuring Glendalough Manor in Tyrone, Georgia just south of Atlanta.
Randall is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Leneille is an Event Planner/Writer who planned their beautiful fall wedding in two short months! They were engaged in June and wed in September. The weather was just right on September 23rd at 2:00 pm at the gorgeous Glendalough Manor.
The wedding was based on the couple’s background, Leneille’s Caribbean heritage with in the exotic florals and Randall’s Georgia peach colors throughout the wedding decor. Using mostly local southern vendors for everything from the stationary to the favors, Leneille wanted to support local businesses while staying on a tight budget.
She gives thanks to Craigslist and online sites for many of the wedding’s elements to make their special day unique and one of a kind, including her custom dress which allowed a 7 1/2 month pregnant bride look sexy instead of a blimp.
She tells me her favorite moment from the wedding was when their toddler was able to eat a cupcake from Cutie Pies & Cakery in Fayetteville. This doesn’t seem like a special event for most but this was his first cupcake; an allergy-friendly cupcake.
Leneille says, “He’s never had one before and although the wedding was supposed to be about us, for one moment it was about him and it was magical.”
How incredible precious.
