December Bride of the Month: Victoria

Meet Victoria, our December Bride of the Month. Victoria and Lew’s engagement session by Viridian Images was as fun and adorable as this couple.

Read on for a look behind the love story.

Tell us about your love story. My fiance and I met when we were 16. My best friend told me I had to meet this guy because he was perfect for me. We eventually met up a few months later and he was perfect for me! We have been dating ever since.

On July 6, 2017, Lew and I went out for a nice date night in Flowery Branch, his hometown. When we got to the restaurant, our hostess directed us outside while our table was being prepared. We walked outside to grab a seat, I dusted off a chair to sit down, and when I turned around, Lew was down on one knee! I have no idea what he said because I was just ready to say YES! He had a photographer to capture the special moment and a video prepared from all of our friends and family for me to watch. In the video, each of our family members and friends congratulated us and detailed how our relationship had impacted their lives. After dinner, we went back to Lew’s parents home where our families greeted us and had an engagement party the next day.

What does your wedding vision look like? We want the atmosphere of our wedding to be soft and romantic. We want our guests to feel comfortable and know just how much we appreciate them being there for us on our special day. With Christ as the center of our relationship, it was important to us have our ceremony in a church. After, we’ll go to The Chair Factory for a reception where our soft and romantic theme will continue.

Which wedding details are you most excited about? There are so many details about our wedding that I am excited to see come to life. I am very excited about our venue, The Chair Factory. It’s a historic building, but a new venue with exposed brick and wood beams. I’m also excited about a memorial tribute to our family members who are no longer here with us. With heaven so far away, we will have a special memorial outside of our ceremony with pictures and flowers to make them a part of our day.

What has been the most challenging and the best part of wedding planning? The most challenging part of wedding planning has been all of the decisions! We want it to be a special day, and there are so many small details we’ve thought about. Ultimately, we have learned it’s about the marriage, not the wedding, so it makes the details more fun when you look at the big picture and remember you are getting to marry your best friend!

Congrats to this sweet couple!

Real Wedding: Midtown Museum

Tia and Shawn first shared their collegiate love story with us in our October Bride of the Month series. The couple was married on October 14, 2017 in midtown Atlanta at the Millennium Gate Museum.

We caught up with Tia to hear about the big day and with the photos as evidence, it was nothing short of amazing. Read more for a look behind this Midtown museum wedding captured by Made You Look Photo & Film.

Having finished planning your wedding, what piece of advice would you offer brides-to-be going through the process? If I could offer brides-to-be one piece of advice it would be to soak up every single bit of the wedding day with family and friends. The entire day goes by so fast!

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day? The vow exchange is by far my favorite memory of our wedding day because it was such a special moment for me and my groom to share together in front of our family and friends.

During your engagement you told us you were really excited about the decor. What were your favorite elements? One of my favorite decor elements of our wedding was a family crest we had designed and installed at the venue. You could see the personalized crest hanging from blocks away! It coordinated with our invitations and was an immediate symbol to guests that they had arrived at our wedding.

Of course the entire day was fun, but which part was the most fun to see come together after all the planning? Creating an amazing guest experience was the most important thing throughout the planning process. Seeing our guests in awe at the venue, florals, food, drinks and favors was fun to watch since we had put so much thought into it.

You had an amazing team of vendors! How did you choose them? When we started wedding planning I knew I wanted Made You Look Photo & Film to capture our day. Their team has an incredible reputation and is extremely nice and caring. From the engagement shoot to the wedding day, they created an amazing experience for us. Every moment and every angle was captured on film and still photos with a special attention to detail.

Best wishes Tia and Shawn!

Engagement Shoot Ideas

You’ve got the man, you’ve got the ring; now you got to get the professional photographer! Gisele with Happy Kiss Photography.

One of the most exciting parts of your engagement is getting professional photos taken that can be used for save the dates, invitations, personalized presents and photo guestbooks.

When scheduling your shoot consider the time of day, the location or locations and the weather.  Photographers are normally flexible in date changes if it has to do with mother nature.  Many photographers enjoy shooting in the morning or the evening because the lighting is fantastic.  Consider the time of day, day of the shoot and the tempeture.  If you are anything like me, I hate being outside with curls in my hair in the heat! It ends up being “what curls?”

*Remember to let your personality show!!

Gisele with Happy Kiss Photography is a Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta exhibitor! She is a new Atlantan who is enjoying her time here!  These are photos she has shared with us from the newly engaged and annual contest winners of her free engagement shoot; Katie & Jeremy! She is a photographer from Arizona who is loving the lush atmosphere Georgia has to offer!  Check her out and set up an appointment to chat and book with her for your shoot.
