Meet Summer, our September Bride of the Month! She and her fiance, Seth, are getting married in April 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia!
How did he propose? We had been hiking all day through Acadia National Park north of Portland, Maine and we decided to end the long day down at Sand Beach. We took off our socks and shoes and sat there for a minute with our feet in the water while I was taking pictures with my camera. Seth saw a woman approaching where we were sitting, so he asked me to ask her to take our picture. I agreed and asked if she would take a picture of us on the beach. While I was walking away to go get in the spot, Seth grabbed the lady’s arm and told her to not stop taking pictures! She was a little freaked out by his tone, but she agreed.
While she was taking pictures of us smiling, Seth turned to me and told me “how much he loved me, how I comfort him in times of need and how thankful he is to God that I was placed in his life.” Then he got down on one knee and proposed. I said yes! The lady captured the whole thing on camera and she congratulated us on our new engagement. We never got the lady’s name, but I’m so thankful she got to be a part of our special moment.
What has been the most difficult and most fun part of the wedding planning process?
The most difficult thing so far has been figuring out the budget and what’s worth spending our money on versus what isn’t worth the time and effort. But I think the best part of planning our wedding is getting to see both our families come together in order to be involved with different aspects of the process. For example, both my mom and Seth’s mom are coming with me to pick out a wedding dress. His grandma is sewing a quilt for us to be our guest book, and my grandma will be helping with baking the cake. My dad is building an arch for us to get married underneath. I love the family involvement!
Congratulations Summer and Seth! We can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
